Casa del Maestro - Ethnographic Museum in La Palma

The "Casa del Maestro" Ethnographic Museum is located in a traditional house rehabilitated to harbor it. Inside, you can enjoy five rooms that explain the different aspects of traditional life in Tijarafe. This museum houses a large number of aboriginal ceramic pieces. In addition, there is a permanent exhibition of images dedicated to the Devil's Dance, as well as the exhibition of several bigheads and the old Devil of Tijarafe. Craftsmanship is strongly rooted in the history and tradition of Tijarafe, making this museum one of the most representative of the area.

This traditional canary dwelling holds an interesting ethnographic collection. In the lobby a collection of traditional looms is exhibited, although the center piece of the exhibition is without a doubt the old frame of the Devil of Tijarafe, used during the yearly town celebration. Around the main patio, with the typical cistern, a traditional kitchen and several rooms dedicated to pre-hispanic ceramics, native dances and musical instruments, are located. Its strategic location, in the center of the village, make the Casa del Maestro a recommended visit with easy access.
